This is a draft itinerary and may change. The final itinerary and hotel details will be shared with all participants about 6 weeks before departure.

    • Arrive and check in at Hotel Ad Vineas / Guesthouse Nikolaihof ;

    • Wine tour & tasting at Weingut Nikolaihof;

    • 'Heurigen' buffet, with local, traditional dishes in the historic Nikolaihof courtyard 

    • After breakfast transfer to Langenlois in the Kamptal wine region for a guided e-bike tour with a picnic lunch and wine tasting in the famous Heiligenstein vineyard - enjoy wines from top winemakers (note the cycling distance is approx. 25km and the level is easy/medium)

    • Guided tour and wine tasting at the historic and iconic Schloss Gobelsburg estate;

    • Dinner in top restaurant in Unterloiben, near Dürnstein

    • After breakfast, transfer to Weingut Tegernseerhof in Unterloiben for a guided wine tasting;

    • Lunch at popular, regional restaurant in Unterloiben;

    • Transfer the short distance to explore the stunning and historic wine village of Dürnstein, one of the most-visited tourist destinations in the Wachau Valley region, with a fairytale-like setting and picturesque architecture, affectionately known as ‘the pearl of the Wachau’;

    • Walk through the vineyards to the famous Domäne Wachau and enjoy the annual Music & Wine Festival for the rest of the afternoon and evening (street food available)

    • After breakfast, transfer to the magnificent Benedictine monastery, Stift Göttweig, with its incredible history and views across the Danube and Wachau Valley;

    • Transfer to nearby Krems where you will depart by ship on the beautiful River Danube, for Spitz;

    • Explore the famous wine town of Spitz;

    • Transfer to a top winery in the Spitz or ‘Spitzer Graben’ vineyards, where you will enjoy a guided wine tasting;

    • 4 course wine dinner at top restaurant in Weissenkirchen

Frequently asked questions, including terms & conditions

  • We ask for a 10% deposit to secure your booking, followed by two equal payments - one by March 21st and the final payment at the end of May.

    The final booking date for this tour is March 20th 2025.

    If the minimum number of people have booked by the booking deadline of March 20th your place will be confirmed and the deposit will be non-refundable.

    If the minimum number of people to run the tour has not been reached we will refund your deposit.

    We ask you to pay through our app and secure payment portal. You can pay by bank transfer with no fees, or with a credit card, which is subject to a card processing fee.

    You can opt to pay in multiple currencies.

  • Transport to and from the tour are not included in the tour price.

    Important note - we advise against making flight/travel arrangements before the tour is confirmed on March 20th.

    If you plan to fly, we suggest arranging flights to/from Vienna. We will advise flight times for you. We will then be able to help you arrange transfer from Vienna airport to the hotel in the Wachau, either by train or taxi.

    Please note: We understand that flight delays can happen which could affect your arrival time, but we will help you to join the tour as appropriate.

    Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any changes made by airlines to flight schedules, including delays, cancellations, or time changes.

  • Your booking is subject to the following cancellation terms:

    Up to March 20th 2025 - deposit refundable;

    From March 21st - May 15th 2025 - 50% cancellation fees apply;

    From May 15th - June 15th 2025 - 75% cancellation fees apply;

    From June 16th - June 26th 2025 - 100% cancellation fees apply

  • Travel to and from the tour - You will need to make your own travel and transfer arrangements to and from the tour - but we can assist in making appropriate arrangements;

    Additional food and drink - Additional food and drink over and above what is included in the tour itinerary;

    Travel insurance - Please ensure you have arranged appropriate travel insurance before you travel;

    Tips - Any tips you would like to give to guides and in restaurants

  • We require that every tour participant secures their own comprehensive, personal travel insurance.

  • You are covered by our deal with the tour operator and their financial protection plan, ensuring your security when booking your wine tour. For example, if we had to cancel the tour due to the hotel having a fire or similar, or if there were a national lockdown, we would refund you.

    If the minimum number of people to run the tour has not been reached by March 20th and we have to cancel the tour, we will refund your deposit with immediate effect.

  • The Kamptal bike tour forms a wonderful element of the itinerary - and the cycling level is easy/medium. You will receive expert tuition on riding an ebike by our tour hosts, WinEcycle Tours. However if this isn’t for you, we will arrange an alternative itinerary and refund you for the e-bike element of the tour, where relevant.

  • It is important you check with your relevant government department, regarding your travel documentation requirements (eg visas, vaccinations, taxes) for Austria.
